This weekend was a big one – Sean and I officially booked our summer vacation! We had been talking about it for a while, but we finally purchased the airline tickets. Here’s our itinerary:
- Aug 17: Fly to Reykjavik
- Aug 20: Fly to Munich
- Aug 27: Fly to Reykjavik
- Aug 29: Fly home to Boston
We’re flying Icelandair and taking advantage of their free stopover deal. In fact, we liked it so much that we’re stopping in Iceland overnight on both legs of the trip! We’re going to spend some time in Reykjavik, but also plan to visit some of the other areas of the country, such as the West Fjords and Gullfoss. We will also be spending time in Augsburg while in Germany, because Sean’s family lives over in that area.
Now it’s time to fill in the day trips, sightseeing, restaurants, lodging, and other fun details! If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them! We basically are open to anything and everything. The next few months will be spent doing Internet research, reading our guidebooks, booking hotels/inns, and planning routes on maps.
This will be my first time in either country, so needless to say, I am beyond excited!! : )
